The School of Natural and Computer Science at the University of Aberdeen is offering several Ph.D. fellowships (1100 Pounds/month after tax, for 3 years) to start in October 2010 with a deadline for applications on February 8th. Good and motivated students interested in any of the following two projects: - (i) construct and modeling the "network of complex data". This network of data would provide the relationships among the many data coming from a single complex system. For example, imagine 200,000 sensors measuring the action of the brain;
- (ii) to design chaos-based communication systems applied to underwater communication. These systems would be used in underwater oil platforms, submarine communication, and sonar applications.
In addition, other topics as described in: http://www.abdn.ac.uk/icsmb/people/details/murilo.baptista and also in: http://www.abdn.ac.uk/icsmb could be possible. Motivated candidates are encouraged to contact: Dr. Murilo Baptista
