Fifth Latin American Congress of Physics

The Fifth Latin American Congress of Physics will take place in Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas, Mexico, from Tuesday October 23 to Friday October 26, 2018 hosted by the Mesoamerican Centre for Theoretical Physics. The Congress will consist of four days of plenary talks and parallel sessions (including a poster session).

The Congress is to be held fifty years after the First Latin American Congress of Physics, which took place in 1968 at Oaxtepec, Mexico. Because of this anniversary, we expect a large participation from the Latin American physics community and a very exciting scientific program. The conference will cover the Latin American development in Physics during the last half century and the latest experimental and theoretical results in

  • High Energy Physics
  • History of physics
  • Mathematical Physics and Gravitation

  • Science Policy and its Relation with Physics Development in Latin America and the Caribbeans
  • Teaching of Physics.

Participation from other regions, in particular from non Latin American countries of the continent is welcome and expected.
